Nubian Phonology Research Unit

This research unit is mainly involved in studying the phonology and phonetics features and the Nubian languages’ sound patterns, identifying phonemes and allophones, defining the syllabic structure, and developing categorical organizations of speech sounds in each studied Nubian language. This study group also works on the study of phonetics in Nubian languages, extracts phonetic rules, and will present a standardized form of speech realization for words and phrases in the Nubian languages. This standardization of phonetics in Nubian languages is deemed a challenging task due to numerous dialects in these languages, which provide multiple variant speech realizations.
